Quick Buying Guide
Drying your curly hair using a diffuser is like blow-drying, but with more control. The concept of this attachment is simple: air is spread through the small holes and distributed across a larger area than the standard dryer nozzle. When looking for a hair diffuser attachment, it is important to take note of the following:
Fingers: They should stick down from the diffuser’s base to lift your roots and give your hair some volume.
Flexibility: Most diffusers can fit on most dryers. It is best to double check whether a diffuser is universal to ensure it fits in your hair dryer.
Mesh or sock diffuser: This one is preferred for travelling. It fits on most dryers, but make sure that it is made of high-quality mesh. The cheap ones will usually cause frizz and could melt.

DEVACURL – DevaFuser
The DevaFuser may look like an alien hand, but it does work wonders! This is one of a kind. It has a unique 360-degree air flow which gently dries your hair from the inside and out for a beautiful, frizz-free result.
The attachment is made from plastic-fibreglass which makes it light and easy to use. And Devacurl states this accessory is universal and should attach to most common hairdryers.
This gave me the most defined curl of all the options used here and gave my hair great natural looking volume. It truly did impress me!
You do need to be patient with this one. You need to section your hair before using and diffuse each piece of hair slowly to get the desired result. However, it is worth it, I was really happy with the enhanced curl this option helped me achieve.
Drying your hair slower and at a lower heat is better for your hair too, so if you have the patience, this one does pay off. I should also mention that, like the Bed Head, this one is super-bulky and can be a bit difficult to store, especially given its very awkward shape.
Overall, I’d recommend this one for all hair types. It is great for lifting your hair from the roots and giving volume. It’s also a much cheaper option than buying the Devacurl hairdryer (that comes with this attachment). Attaching the Devacurl to your regular hairdryer gives pretty much the same result.
CONAIR – Euro Style
The Euro-style is designed to fit standard hair dryers. Working best on low heat the Euro-style diffuser offers healthy looking shiny hair.
The Euro Style is designed with curly haired girls in mind and should fit most standard hair dryers. The diffuser works best on a low heat and I’ve found the slower I dry with this the better curl I’m left with. It’s nice and light and is an easy model to use. It is a little bulky but handling does become simple with only a little practice.
For the low price, this attachment works pretty well. It does exactly what it should do. It dried my hair evenly; it greatly reduced my levels of frizz (in comparison to drying without a one) and left me with much more defined curls than I’d normally have.
Annoyingly, although this tool says it works with most hair dryers, it doesn’t fit some of the Conair hair dryers. This is surprising seeing as it is made by Conair! It did fit fine on my hair dryer but be aware if your hair dryer model is a Conair that that doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll fit and you should check measurements before purchasing.
The Conair Euro Style works best with curly to very curly hair. Or, if you have a slight wave it will give your curl more definition, as well as bounce and body. It won’t give straight hair a curl but can be used to give volume. This is a great value, especially for anyone new to diffusers. It will give you a great result and is easy-to-use for beginners.
ELCHIM – 2001 Milano Cocoon Bi-Diffuser
The Elchim 2001 Milano Cocoon is unique to all our other options mentioned, in that it has two interchangeable grills. Hence the name bi-diffuser! Also unlike most, this one can be used when your hair dryer is on maximum heat, allowing for super-fast drying.
What makes this especially great is that it caters to all hair types. When both grills are used, i.e. has the top or cover attached, it works best for thin and fine hair types. It dries a large amount of hair in a quick time, with minimal heat damage and no nasty split ends!
Without the top cover, it works better for medium to coarse hair. This piece looks more like your regular diffuser with the usual prongs that allow you to define curls and give volume to your hair.
The interchangeable grills can be used together or separately depending on what works best for your hair type.
The cocoon shaped cover dries your hair near the roots. This is followed by prong feature to give some extra volume and curl.
The Elchim 2001 can be difficult to attach. If you have an Elchim dryer, it should fit nice and tight around it with a good hold. It has a rubber-band holding design for use with standard hair dryers. How well this works depends on your hair dryer and it can slip off if not a good fit. Try to get specific measurements of your dryer to be sure this one will fit before buying.
Curly Co. Collapsible Hair Diffuser
The Collapsible diffuser is one of the recent designs that have graced the beauty scene. It folds for easy storage, unlike its bulky counterparts and also so you can take it along with you while travelling.
Constructed out of silicon which allows it to stretch and shrink to fit your dryer. The Curly Co. Collapsible Hair Diffuser is optimal for the person on the go. The diffuser is able to collapse into itself to allow for easy storage, so no matter where you are going; you will be able to take this device with you. The transportability of this diffuser makes it one of the best!
Designed to fit most hair dryers, you will want to be sure to research that this diffuser will properly attach to your hair dryer before you purchase. According to reviews, the flexibility gives this diffuser a unique advantage as it produces near-perfect curls with little-to-no frizz. However, it is strongly urged to not use this diffuser with very high heat, as it will begin to melt. It has also been stated that the silicon doesn’t stretch to fit dryers with, particularly wide barrels.
For those lacking the bathroom space to store a huge diffuser, here’s an option. Don’t let the size of this diffuser fool you.

This diffuser brags about the implementation of Nano titanium technology, allowing it to dry hair faster than other diffusers on the market.
